Poll Everywhere - How does Poll Everywhere Work?
Description:Poll Everywhere allows you to poll your audience LIVE through texts, tweets, or the web. One of the strengths of this service is that you can actually create open-ended questions as well. This short video shows you an overview of Poll Everywhere. The audience's responses can be embedded right into your PowerPoint or Keynote presentation.
There are various different plans available depending on your needs. There is a free option where you can create an unlimited number of polls but you can only poll up to 40 people per question. Also what you can do with the data is a little limited, however it is a great free option if you want to just do a few simple things. Additionally there are various different plans offered for corporate and educational settings that come with increased functionality such as moderating the answers so that inappropriate or redundant answers are not shown for your open ended questions. The following are some of Poll Everywhere's plans.
Poll Everywhere Plans & Prices
Creating your first poll is very easy - on the home page, you can click on the big green button that says Create your first poll. There you can start exploring or you can watch a video that will give you tips on how to create this first poll (which is very helpful). You will learn some tips, including how to use images in your poll's answer choices or how to create mathematical equations. Once you feel ready, just create a poll by entering your question into the box and either select "open ended" and you are done, or select "multiple choice" and provide your choices. You can also create another question or simply select create and the poll will be created.
Poll Everywhere - Creating a Question
Once you create your poll, you can set it up, including options for responding, embedding the poll or sending it via email as well as embedding it into PowerPoint. The screenshot below shows a poll I had created and I tested it out by sending a text as instructed. It worked instantly.

I hope you find working with Poll Everywhere as easy as I found it. The only thing I found that was a little disappointing was the fact that Poll Everywhere no longer supports Prezi and so if you are using Prezi, you will not be able to embed it into your presentation.
