My personal favorite features are the picture feature, the commenting on shared entries feature and the overall management of entries. It is easy to see how collaborating on entries can be easily accomplished and the search and filtered view features help in quick navigation through the posts.

Trying Penzu: Even though signing up for Penzu is easy, you do not even have to go that far if you are interested in seeing whether it is the right fit for you. You can simply try it out without any account set up. If you select this option, you are redirected to a journal entry where you can quickly understand what Penzu allows you to do.

If you however wish to save your work, you need to create at least the Free account or consider signing up for the Pro account. This is very simple, just click on the Sign Up button and in a few short moments, you will have your own free account. All you need to provide is your name, email address and a password. In the next step, you can choose an avatar to represent your for your account and you quickly realize that your options are limited unless you choose to go for the Pro version.

It will ask you to make a few more selections before you are done, one of them deals with the Looking Glass option a form of archiving your entries in your inbox that can be set up based on your personal needs.

Penzu will even let you set up a personalized frequency of email reminders so that you do not forget to journal. You can choose your frequency as well as the day of the week and time of the day to be reminded. A cool touch is also the ability to reply to the reminders themselves in order to create an entry.

The last step is to choose a default font and after that you get your own brand new digital journal to start filling up with your memories, thoughts, recipes, travel stories, favorite quotes or funny thoughts your kids come up with as they grow.

Once you create your journal, you can change its name and even set it up to count your words or to journal by email if you click on the settings icon. If you click on the key icon you can set up your journal beneficiaries who would be able to read it after you pass away and if you click on the lock icon you can set up another layer of password protection. Don't be fooled by the New Journal button, multiple journals are available only for those with a Pro account. With that said, you are now ready to start journaling!

Personal Reflection: Setting up my account and writing my first entry was very easy as I find Penzu very intuitive. The menu above the writing area allows one to further interact with their journal. My personal favorites are the ability to add a picture, the print function and the sharing function. Once again, know that some of these are actually only available for the Pro users such as the customization function that would allow you to change the color schemes of your journal entries. And if you want to share your entries, you can do so by either creating a public link or by emailing your specific journal entry to selected group of people and even share it anonymously.
