Who doesn't like to save money when shopping? What if I told you that Ebates.com literally pays you to shop online? Sounds too good to be true? Keep on reading, I promise you there is no catch to this one and you do not need to be afraid of getting into some rewards program that has strings attached. Ebates.com is one of several websites that allow you to shop online and receive cash back for your purchases. It also provides you with coupon codes when applicable for additional discounts. It is free and incredibly easy to save on everyday or special purchases.

You will notice that you can shop by department, search for a particular store or even just browse different categories that might be offering exceptionally high cash back offers for a limited time. I usually use Ebates.com when I am going to purchase something anyway and then try to get the additional discount by receiving cash back on my purchases (it is especially handy around Christmas time when I purchase more online than other times of the year or when I am shopping for birthday presents or other non-usual shopping sprees).

However, I have previously also used Ebates.com because I saw a very high cash back offer for a store I was not initially looking to shop at. For example, as you can see in the picture above, at the time of this posting, Proactiv+ was giving 37.5% cash back. That is like a 40% discount, so if I were a user of Proactiv+, I would have likely purchased.

Something to note is that the cash back percentages change and sometimes stores offer double cash back days, which can be very nice for some of the more popular stores that may normally offer smaller cash back percentages.

If you use Google Chrome, please note that you can install an Ebates Chrome extension right onto your toolbar, which will prompt you to save every time you are on a participating website. I have to admit that I really find this very helpful, because at times I have forgotten to go to Ebates.com prior to my shopping trip and I missed out on cash back.

In summary and all honesty, over time it adds up. I have been a member for about 4 years at the time of writing this article and during this time, I have accumulated almost $400 in cash back. Many of these have been one to ten dollar cash back transactions but in the end, the overall impact is pretty large. I sincerely hope you will find Ebates.com as helpful as I have.
